Why is my child refusing to crawl? He is almost eight months and does not have the slightest interest in going anywhere (unless it is rolling). Is it because he has no examples, no one to show him? We need play dates! I guess he will just be a little behind (just like every other boy) :), because we still don't even have teeth! He seems to be getting a little bit of a cold also (coughing, sneezing, runny nose... maybe signs of teeth to come...). Poor baby! At least I'll be home soon to spend more time with him. Also... (I know I am full of questions today!) he is like a human torch! He always sweats. Anyone else's little one do that or should I ask the doctor? Anyway, only 5 days left! Yay for no school!

Heather,
I actually know a baby who walked before she crawled. Seriously. Don't be scared. You'd be surprised how many babies are late crawlers/walkers. Aidan was a really late walker!! He is also now a late speaker too! He still speaks in jibber jabber!
Jess
Hey, Jack still has NO interest in crawling and he has NO teeth and he has just a about every symptom you described. You know Einstein was a late bloomer, maybe we do have some "Baby Einsteins" on our hands :)
Heather,
Try not to worry about your son not crawling. He will eventually or like Jess said may just walk instead. My daughter, Sarah, was a late crawler for a girl. She didn't start til almost 8 months and started walking very soon after that. Every child is different. Just b/c others are doing it or it's something you read your child is strictly unique in his own way. It's that way with everything...you'll notice each child is very different. I think the things the doctor's tell you and the things you read are on an average basis. If he never crawls it's truly ok. If her never walks - that's different!
Take care,
Bethany
